Immediate opening for full-time Senior HIM Coder, Outpatient. Hours are 8am-4:30pm. Perform diagnostic and procedural coding of all ambulatory and emergency service diagnoses and conditions, working from the appropriate documentation in the health record of the patient. Classification systems include ICD-9-CM and CPT-4, for the purpose of data collection, research, regulatory compliance and financial reimbursement in accordance with national and hospital-specific coding guidelines.

Requirements:

Certifications from the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) as either a Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) or Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) preferred, Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) required. Must have a minimum of five (5) years recent outpatient coding experience in an acute care setting in addition to experience with a variety of health information functions such as documentation and billing requirements, HIM workflow, etc.
